Ever since the release of the original bbs programs, and as sites developed in size and importance so did the reality of possible threats against them. Hoping and hiding from those who target computers, even if only to use them in denial of service attacks, isn’t going to work. You might be glad you took the time to download one. No one wants that responsibility. Black hat operations, script and hackers are here on the Internet for good. The question is… does the software actually work? Knowledge and understanding of how they attack and how to defend against it is the best chance of preventing it. For the most part yes they do. If you have data of sensitive nature on any of your sites or even on your laptop/PC computer then you are at risk just like everybody else. Some examples of free hacking software are located here, which are well written and waiting for you to test them.
Best/free-hacking. Some of it certainly isn’t harmless. When there is a chance to prevent it, why would you not take it. Thousands of computers were infected and crashed. It began as largely harmless fun. The term “hacker” became a household word because of him. Lets Face it. Hacking originally started out as a game, to see who could “get root” (aquire access to the simplest and most vital part of your computer) and then leave behind some evidence of being there. Robert was known on the Internet as “rtm”. They are programed and designed by people who are working to get their way into the software industry. Granted some may be harmless still , kids pranks. I mean who would like to be the one explaining to their boss that their work laptop was hacked into and in result you provided all of the company medical information of ten employees to a random person? It costs millions in time, money and loss of business to those who are its target. It is both costly and embarrassing in some cases. Hacking isn’t just fun and games anymore. It is now a problem of epidemic proportions and with that in mind it can cost just as much or more financial loss than any other disease possible problems.

Being in the webmaster community for years, I have come across several hackers. Most of the time they just want to change your index page or see what little quirk they can hide on your site. One time I even ended up seeing strange things happening to a horse.

To avoid this it usually takes some planning and some solid software. I would always suggest that any serious computer user download or use a PCI scan.

there are many sites that teach you the techniques that the hackers use to break your websites (or networks) one of the best things you can do is to learn a few techniques and how to prevent them in your own networks and websites, then put these precautions into place. remember that if anyone really wants to hack you then they will, no matter what you do to prevent it !
