The blackhead reaches the surface, where the whitehead stays beneath causing a bump on top. Acne results from the way hormones interact with oil glands in our skin, creating clogged pores that result in pimples .For treating blackheads, mix milk with lime or lemon juice and apply this warm to the face. Use this as a wash after washing with soap. The regions most commonly afflicted with acne include the neck, shoulders and face. It’s estimated that as many as 20 million people in the United States have Acne, and it’s not only among teenagers. My friends recommend a tea of yarrow, chamomile, catnip, thyme, lavender, and lemon juice followed again by a rinse of vinegar water daily. By the way, the color of the blackhead isn’t due to dirt at all, as commonly thought, but simple discoloration. While the condition isn’t life threatening, acne can cause serious scarring. It may not smell great, but when used regularly and rinsed with vinegar like the baking soda, it helps the skin get back to normal ph levels. Having said all that, what are some natural ways to tackle this problem? I find that one cup of milk with the juice of one fresh lime does the trick nicely.

Another good blend is a mix of parsley and garlic juice and peppermint tea. Having gone through two teenagers thus far, one simple solution is mixing baking soda and water as a paste that’s applied after washing the face with hot water to open the pores. Alternatively, blend up raw potato with papaya juice and apply this like a facial, allowing it to dry then rinse thoroughly. Of course everyone has their own unique blend of herbs that they’ve tried and claimed work. At first a child might balk, but when they see the results over time, they’ll begin doing it themselves. Note that these particular washes seem best for whiteheads. There are a variety of pimples that may arise, the most common being blackheads and whiteheads. Leave this on for at least 10 minutes then rinse it with a tincture of vinegar and water (one part vinegar to 8 parts water). Thus far there’s been a lot of discussions about the exact causes of acne, including hormonal changes, genetics, certain make up products that clog pores, friction on the skin, and pollution all seem to be potential factors alone or in concert. If it’s a really bad breakout consider doing this twice a day (in the morning and at night).

Lightly squeeze the petals to drain off any oils. To the base oil you need to add some organic extractions at one or two drops at a time until the scent is pleasing. Be fastidious about this for best results. So test this on a small patch of skin before starting to use it regularly. Now smell the results. If it’s too intense, just add more oil. Put these ingredients together in a non-aluminum pan and warm over a low heat until the herb(s) or petals turn translucent. This step is essential to ALL recipes presented here. Note, however, that some botanicals are very harsh on the skin. There is nothing more fun than making a perfume or cologne that’s wholly YOU. The second method starts with three components of an oil and one part dried herb, or two parts of fresh herbs/flowers. The typical shelf life on this process is 6 months. Shake this twice daily for at least two weeks. This first one is both fastest and easiest. That implies it’s begun to turn. Additionally, some plants are very sensitive to high heat – it can spoil their aroma, so you’re also protecting your ingredients. Begin with a cup of good quality oil that has a texture you like on your skin. Note that both the herbs and flowers need to be free of dirt, stems, and seeds. The third method is very closely related to the last methid except you will not be adding direct heat. Now you will need to place the herbs and oil into a see through, airtight container that you leave in a bright and sunny place to start making some sun tea! Cinnamon, for example, may burn. Almond, for example, is very light but it does have an aroma of its own to consider. Olive oil is heavier but relatively scent-neutral. If it’s too weak, you can re-warm adding a little more herb/flower until the result satisfies. If you ever notice the oil getting cloudy, toss it out. The beauty of this approach is saving energy.
Every so often you should open the container and do a smell check near the end of a 2 week period to check and see if anymore herbs or oils are needing to be added.. Homemade, naturally scented oils can be created in a variety of ways. At this point, store the scented oil in a dark, airtight container in a cool location.
