Buying a sports car is always more fun than buying groceries. However, that doesn’t mean it’s as easy.
Sports cars have many different elements you need to consider when looking for one to purchase.
Remember the following tips when searching for a sports car:
There are lots of models and accessories when it comes to sports cars. What does this mean? Well, before you start looking for a sports car, figure out what your budget is for it. You can get a lower end model sports car for about the same price as an average sedan, or you can grab lots of accessories and such and pay a fortune for it. By creating a comfortable budget, this will help prevent future disappointment when you see that you can’t afford what your heart is set out on. Don’t forget to incorporate insurance costs into your budget since insurance for sports cars is a lot more than you think.
Keep in mind how you want to use your new sports car once you own it since most of them only can fit two people. If you intend to use it to transport your six kids to the beach with two surf boards, good luck finding one. Also, most sports cars have little headroom, so if you or your passengers you intend on riding with a particularly tall, it’s probably not the best option.
Speaking of roofing, most sports cars either come with a convertible roof or a sunroof. If you purchase a car that has a convertible, take into consideration whether you want a hardtop. Hardtops are more durable but usually more difficult to open a close. A small tops are available as well.
Decide if you want the sports car because of looks, performance, or a mix of both. If you want it more for the looks, then an automatic is probably a better choice. But if performance is higher on the list, a six-speed model with lots of torque would probably suit you better. Also look into getting a mid-engine model. With it, you’ll get some of the best handling out there, but you may end up sacrificing storage or leg room for it.

Before the buyer drives away, fill out a bill of sale and a release of liability. Your state may have additional requirements; check them out in advance so you don’t get burnt. The more competition you have, the lower your price will go.

Have an extra car that’s taking up space in your drive? Note how many there are and how much they cost. Do all you can to get the word out to potential buyers. Check the air levels on the tires and top off all of the fluids. You can get both of these forms from the DMV; pick them up early in the process and keep them on hand. Once you think, “I need to sell my car,” then follow these simple steps to get it done right. Now, it’s time to advertise that you have a car for sale. Asking price is also influenced by factors such as the season, the number of similar cars on the market, and your local market. They may also want to have the car evaluated by a mechanic, although you might be able to avoid this request by having the mechanic’s evaluation mentioned in Step Complete the Sale Once you’ve negotiated a sale price, it’s time to complete the transaction. You’ll be more likely to get offers if the car is in good condition. Look for similar cars for sale in your area. Consider having an auto-repair mechanic take a look at your car and make any minor repairs if needed. Whatever your reason, you’ve got a used car that you need to unload. Set your Asking Price When selling your car, you’ll need to know how much it’s worth. Don’t forget to cancel your insurance too. Run a car history report from a vendor like Carfax. They will probably want to test drive the car if they are genuinely interested. Have the oil changed if it’s time. Or you’ve decided to lease a car from here on out and don’t need a trade in. Start off by cleaning the car out. You want to be competitive. You want your potential buyers to see that you’re trustworthy and easy to deal with. Show the Car When it’s time to show the car, be prepared and polite. Post on local bulletin boards or through local newsletters.

Put all of the paperwork, including the mechanic’s evaluation if you get one, into a folder for prospective buyers to look at. However, you also want to take into account how much you’re willing to negotiate. It’s possible to sell your car with a minimum of fuss and trouble if you take the time to research and do it right. Kelley Blue Book is an easy way to do this. Get the Car Ready You want to present the best product possible when you’re trying to sell a used car. There are a few key things that you need to do to protect yourself when selling a car. Consider setting your asking price above your minimum and putting “OBO” (or best offer) or “negotiable” into your ads. Remove all of the junk, vacuum up the gunk on the floor, and give everything a thorough cleaning. And put signs or waivers in the windows of your car and park it close to the road where it can be seen , but unless you live on a main thoroughfare, this probably isn’t going to be enough. You don’t need to be an automotive expert to sell a car; you just need to be well informed. Advertise! You are not legally protected if you take a personal check or if you make a verbal agreement to get paid in installments. Make sure that they have a current driver’s license, and be prepared to ride with them to answer questions and help them find their way around. Consider newspaper or online ads to bring in buyers.

Don’t remove all of the wires now.Purchase a car stereo that will fit your car. Attach the antenna wire. Remove and reattach the wires in the following order: the positive wires, then the negative wires, then the ground (black) wire. Remove the front dash panel according to the directions in your owner’s manual. Consider putting all of the screws into a small plastic baggie to make sure that they don’t get lost during the car stereo installation process. Unscrew and pull out your car stereo unit and look at the back. One of the easiest ways to save money on car stereo systems is to install them yourself.

Disconnect the negative battery cable so that you can work safely. Slide the new car stereo into the mounting bracket. Slide the stereo into place but don’t screw it in until you’ve tested it.For the installation, you’ll need your owner’s manual, a screwdriver and/or socket wrench set, and wire strippers. For some people, a great-sounding car stereo system is an essential piece of equipment. Then attach the constant and ignition power wires. There’s nothing like driving down the street and listening to music with the windows down. You need them as a map to help you attach the new car stereo system. Your manual should show exactly how to do this. When testing the stereo, use the balance features to listen to each car stereo speaker and make sure that it’s working properly. You will either see one plug that is attached to all of the wires or a bunch of wires that are individually attached to the stereo. The ground wire should be attached to metal. It’s also a good idea to look for a system that is wired specifically for your make and model if you can find one.

If you don’t have a plug, you’ll need to wire it manually. It will save you a lot of time and effort. If you have a plug, all you need to do is remove it and plug in the new one.If everything’s working right, go ahead and screw in your new stereo, put on some music, and enjoy!

Caring for a car can be expensive, there are some easy thing you can do to save money.
-Perform own oil changes, topping fluid levels off, and check your tires on a regular basis, you can keep great performance and get the most of you gas mileage.
Follow the indicated steps, and learn how to change your cars oil while saving a trip to the mechanic.
Make sure to have all the materials needed. Jack stands are one of the most important things you will need. They help hold up your car before you go underneath. Do not go under a car without the jack support, it’s not safe.
The following materials are needed:

6 quarts of oil. (Check manual for right amount)

A Replacement oil filter

A wrench

A bucket or pan to drain oil into. Make sure to think of what you will do with the oil once you drain it. You may also purchase oil draining pans that close so you can properly get rid of the oil.

A rag

and last, a funnel

Changing your car’s oil:
Leave your car running for at least ten minutes, the oil will become hot and it will drain easier.
-Find the oil drain plug. Usually found on the bottom of the engine in front of the car. Place your oil container down and remove the plug. Remember the oil coming out is hot so be careful. Clean the plug and the opening, then replace plug.
-Find the oil filter, it’s on the side of the engine. Place the oil container beneath the filter to get any remaining oil, then take away the filter. Clean the open area where the filter is attached. Take a little oil to lubricate the rubber seal on the new filter, then put it into place.
-Find the oil filler cap, which is right on the top of the engine. Open and put the funnel in the opening. Pour in new oil and renew the cap.
Turn on the car and let it run for a minute or more. Turn the car off and remove the keys just for safety. To make sure there are no leaks, check plug and filter and adjust as needed.
-Finally, clean the area. Wipe any oil that might have spilled with the rag, and safely make sure to get rid of the old oil at a local recycling center; make sure to never dump the oil into a sewage drain.
