Bathrooms are an essential part of any home. When considering what type of bathroom suites you require, you have to look at the style of your house, and more importantly, the room you have to fill.

There are lots of bathroom websites and showrooms out there so shopping around is always a good idea. Find your style that fits you, and then get a suite to fit the room. Look out for great deals, but don’t get so overwhelmed with them that you end up with a bath tub that won’t fit your room!

The key thing to remember is to measure the space once, then measure it again. It’s surprising how often people only do 1 measurement and when their bathroom arrives find out that it doesn’t fit. This can be a costly mistake so measure 2-3 times just to make sure.

One thing to look out for when buying online or offline, is a classic trick used by companies who offer free delivery, but bump up the prices of their products to reflect this, so again, shop around and work out your best deal, as it won’t always be the one’s offering free delivery or free extras. Ultimately your bathroom is a long term investment and will ultimately add significant value to your property, if done correctly!

How many of use have gone to look round a new property and been put off by an aubergine suite, and grotty tiles?!

Adding features to a bathroom is where you get your main style, a bath tub with traditional taps and embossed square looking bath panels will make the bath look traditional, where as smooth lines and funky taps will give a more modern look. So use these types of features to add your character, even colourful toilet seats can be used to personalise your suite if white isn’t your thing.

However, don’t get put off looking at endless rows of white items which all start to look the same. A good way to do this is by going to showrooms, and seeing how suites look in a bathroom environment, this can also help in working out what style you want for your bathroom. Not all of us have the time to go out and visit showrooms and a lot of websites offer good life style images showing how their bathrooms look.

Once you have chosen your bathroom suite and measured and measured again, its time to get your new bathroom into your home. Check out our plumbing forums for some helpful insight. The main thing is, whatever style you go for, make sure you enjoy your bathroom!

One area of a kitchen that’s sometimes a trouble spot is the area over the counter top. One way to solve several problems is to install a kitchen tile backsplash. Now a tile backsplash is practical for sure. But it’s an area to let the creative juices flow too.

When installing a kitchen backsplash, a trouble spot for many users is the proximity right over the top of the counter. The best way to tackle this problem is to add a unique finishing touch to your kitchen backsplash. When installing the kitchen backsplash I suggest using some unique accent tiles. I might even sugggest that you hand paint a few tiles for the backsplash.
Pretty much go crazy. It is all up to your own creativity.

Kitchen Backsplash

The area above the counter top is a perfect place to make the kitchen backsplash special and stand out. And since tiles are easy to clean and maintain there is no reason not to install a kitchen backsplash.

Another trouble spot is areas where you have to cut the tile into special shapes. This is most obvious when working around a plug or wall outlet. Though this task may seem formidable, it isn’t. I suggest taking a pen and making a light mark on your tile so you know where to cut the tile. Do this on the back of your backsplash tile so it does not show later on.

Tile is easy to maintain and that’s one of the best reasons for a tile back splash. Just wipe it off and it’s clean and looking like new.

Most of all, just be creative. A kitchen backsplash is a simple and great way to not only make your kitchen look great, but to increase the value of your home.

So what are you waiting for? Start installing that kitchen backsplash.

When it comes to contemporary design in bedroom furniture, the style has a minimal, neutral look and features a mix of modern and traditional influences. If you’ve been searching for a relaxing getaway in your bedroom, a contemporary-designed sleeping space can offer you the peace and quiet you deserve.

The contemporary design has become increasingly popular in modern times, mainly due to its simplicity. With plenty of condos and apartments being constructed, the contemporary look is mainly followed because it’s simple to do and can appeal to a wide audience. Rooms, such as the bedroom, have a light, airy feel with lots of natural light.

Colours in a contemporary bedroom can vary. Generally, the contemporary design focuses on simple, earthy tones, like various beiges or soft browns. Bright shades like canary yellow or candy apple red aren’t necessarily found in contemporary bedrooms – they don’t promote relaxation.

The shape of contemporary bedroom furniture is normally curved or free form. It combines the streamlined look of modern furniture with the rounded, detailed traditional style. The most common furniture material is wood in a lighter finish, but dark finishes can be used as well. The wooden furniture is usually complimented with brushed nickel or chrome hardware.

Polished wooden floors are popular in contemporary bedrooms, instead of traditional carpet. To add some comfort to the floor, area rugs in a muted colour and/or pattern with a slightly curved shape is suited to the contemporary style. The wooden floors are usually in a lighter shade to promote a fresh and open feel.

Contemporary bedroom décor can either be used to subtly enhance your room, or become a focal point. It all depends on what pieces you go with. Bedside lamps with metal accents or an oval mirror over your dresser can be an understated addition, or you can step it up a notch and feature a hanging arc lamp directed over your bed. You can also invest in a chrome chandelier or an oversized wall mirror to add a little drama to your contemporary bedroom.

Get started on creating a contemporary bedroom for your home – whether you live in an apartment or not!

Forex trading is the exchange and trading of currency from around the around. The concepts of Forex trading is the same as the stock market and is very easy to get started in.

The goal of Forex trading is simple. Trade one currency for its equivalent in another currency. Then when its conversion rate goes up, trade it back to make more money then before.

Money is being exchanged thousands of times everyday and people are making a lot of money from Forex Trading. A lot of people use a broker however this is not necessary.

When trading Forex all deals are done in what is known as a cross. This is something like GBP/USD. Meaning that all exchanges are one currency for another and no 3 currency exchanges.

Forex trading is better then the stock market because trading can go on 24 hours a day which allows you to make exchange decisions instantly based upon any news that could affect the market. Trading in Forex also allows traders to make a profit off of potentially failing markets.

For instance, one could buy a large quantity of currency that is performing poorly world-wide. When that currency starts to rebound, and becomes worth more in comparison to other currency, it could be sold for a huge profit margin.

Take Your Trading To A New Level With Stealth Forex Trading Systems. The Very Best Forex Investment That You Can Make.

So what are you waiting for? Start trading right away. Forex trading is easy and the opporunities are endless. Who would have guessed that exchanging currency could be so profitable for the average person.

Brick-built houses follow a long tradition of styles and methods of construction. The brickwork gives the building character and is the main loadbearing element. If you have to repair and renovate your home it is useful to understand the basic principles of its construction.

To support the weight of the structure, most brick-built buildings are supported on a solid base called foundations (see diagrams left).

External walls are loadbearing, supporting roof, floors and internal walls. Cavity walls comprise two leaves braced with metal ties; older houses have solid walls at least 225mm (9in) thick. Bricks are laid with mortar in overlapping bonding patterns to give the wall rigidity. A damp-proof course (DPC) just above ground level prevents moisture rising. Window and door openings are spanned above with rigid supporting beams called lintels.

Internal walls are either nonloadbearing divisions which are made from lightweight blocks, manufactured boards or timber studding, or loadbearing structures of brick or block.

Ground floors are either solid concrete or suspended timber types. A damp- proof membrane (DPM) is laid between walls where a floor is concrete. With timber floors, sleeper walls of honeycomb brickwork are built on oversite concrete between the base brickwork; a timber sleeper plate rests on each wall and timber joists are supported on them. Their ends may be similarly supported, let into the brickwork or suspended on metal hangers. Floorboards are laid at right angles to joists. First-floor joists are supported by the masonry or hangers.

Pitched (sloping) roofs comprise angled rafters fixed to a ridge board, braced by purlins, struts and ties and fixed to wall plates bedded on top of the walls. Roofs are usually clad with slates or tiles to keep the rain out.

2 DIY Projects To Spruce Up The Bedroom

We each spend approximately one third of our lives sleeping in our beds. This is a pretty
astounding figure if you stop and think about it. Therefore it makes sense, given how much time we spend sleeping, that the bedroom is set up in a way
that’s not only conducive to sleep, but stylish as well. Basically, your bedroom needs to be a space that you want to spend time in.

Given the tough economic times we’re facing these days, keeping costs low is always a plus. Here are 2 DIY tips to help turn your bedroom into a sanctuary.

1. DIY Headboard Project

The problem with platform beds is that many don’t come with headboards. No problem!
Take a weekend and do your own headboard! My favorite bedroom design idea is a paint-it-yourself headboard that you can paint directly onto the wall.
Simply paint a column the same width of your bed on the wall behind. Choose a color that works in your room. Once it’s dry, prop up some big, square
accent pillows against the wall and voila! Instant headboard!

2. A Fresh Coat Of Paint

You might be surprised at how much difference a fresh coat of paint makes in a room. If your walls are white right now, consider a splash of color to
change things up and keep it fresh. According to experts, it’s best to shoot for a neutral “spa-ready” color palette. Cool greens, blues and purples have
the tendency to calm and relax you which is just what you need before bed.

According to paint manufacturers, oranges, reds and yellows are also growing in popularity this year so if you’re looking for a brighter, that might be the
way to go. These brighter colors are also a great way to compensate for a lack of good, quality natural light.

With a couple of simple changes, your bedroom has a completely new and revitalized look just in time for Spring!

When developing a new website one of the most important decisions one will have to make is which host to use. Over the past few years the number of hosting companies have grown rapidly in number so making this decision may not be easiest of things.

There are of course a lot of free hosts out there but in most cases these free servers will force you to display unappealing ads on every page of your site. These ads can be very burdensome to most users. Free hosts also limit you on the amount of sites you can host, the amount of bandwidth, and file space that can be used.

Due to these limits, a free host should not be used if your goal is to have a professional and active site.

When it comes to hosts that require payment for use, there are once again a large variety of sites, all with different features and price ranges. Some servers will cost you several hundred a year, but in 9 out of 10 cases that is an unneeded cost. A good host should cost around 70-120 dollars a year.

I have found that the best host out there is BlueHost.

They allow clients to host unlimited domains, have unlimited file space, and unlimited bandwidth. Not only that, but they also give new clients several vouchers for a lot of free advertising with Google and Yahoo.

So if you need a new host or even just your first one, then Blue Host is the way to go.

Interior Decorating: Asian Style

The peaceful and sincere designs of the Asian cultures have always enticed us for centuries. Maybe it’s the way Asian designs are so versatile, or perhaps it’s because nature is so closely involved with the furniture, murals, and other pieces.

Decorating Ideas | Asian Decor

You’ll find lots of helpful tips below if you want to create an Asian style room or room(s).

Incorporate Dramatic Colors

If you’re going for a more traditional style Chinese look, try using a bold red since it represents good luck. A nice, calm brown can also touch up the red. The Japanese enjoy utilizing natural grays and tan colors into their typically wooden furniture. A gold trim will also do most Asians designs well.

Texture

Asian décor is composed of lots of smooth, polished features. Bamboo can significantly help you accomplish your goal. Try using a bamboo rug here and there. Bamboo picture frames also help.

Nature

Japanese living spaces often have a bonsai plant in them. This gives a fresh feeling when one walks into the room. Again, bamboo also recreates the sparks of nature right in your interior.

Multi-Purpose Furniture

If you search around the internet for a few moments for some Asian style furniture ideas, you can often find a dresser with tea cups on top of it. Or maybe you glanced at a futon acting as a bed. This is a very notable feature of Asian interior decorations. Maybe you could place a dresser next to your door with a bonsai plant on top. Using the dresser as a shoe holder will make the room seem that much larger.

Rugs

If you’ve ever been in a traditional Asian home, you’ll notice that there is some sort of rug in every space. The Japanese use tatami mats frequently, while Chinese tend to use wool rugs. A tatami mat is easy to keep clean and provides a nice feel to your feet when walked upon.

Windows

While you want much of your interior Asian décor to be explosive with elements, you’re going to want your windows to be as simple as possible. This helps balance out the environment of the living quarters and helps to not overwhelm the person in them. Tassels can be hung through the rooms on the windows like the Chinese do.

Floor Screens

These are another major element of Asian décor. A Shoji screen, used by the Japanese, helps hide unattractive areas and can separate certain spaces.
Water

Just the sound of the crisp, flowing water is enough to calm anyone down. Incorporate miniature water falls into your spaces and get a fish tank with some beautiful, exotic fish in it. Don’t forget the smooth sea shells and sand dollars!

The main thing you need to keep in mind when creating an Asian style living space is simplicity. With simplicity comes serenity.

What is retro style decorating? Anything from the past influences the wide variety of colors, textures, and objects of Retro. However, when concentrating on a Retro style theme, you should think décor from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. If you go back too far, you may hit the vintage era.

As you probably know, the 50s, 60s, and 70s were a time of lots of bright, vibrant colors and tons of different, exotic textures. Try using blends of green, yellow, red, and blue to create fun themes.

Every design must be bold and stand out, but not to the point at which it overwhelms the viewer. Go for “funky” looks that are strange but unique at the same time.

Furniture in a retro style room tries to appear as outstanding as possible. When it comes to sofas, look for elongated styles and make sure there are lots of colorful pillows.

Also, as a quick side note, don’t go for big design when decorating with retro themes as it may interfere with the effectiveness of the vibrant, bold colors. Instead of picture designs, focus on puzzle-piece looks and things of that nature.

The best colors to use are avocado green and mustard yellow. Combine these with some simple tie-dye fabric and presto you’re set! If you’re not a fan of tie-dye, try checkered patterns.

When it comes to textures, the more the merrier. Go for soft, rough, and fluffed designs. Anything is good.

Scoop stools, skate tables, fuzzy throw rugs, and lava lamps are all part of the wide assortment of décor you’re going to want your retro themed area to have. Foreign sculptures are also great.

Wood and checker tile flooring are also predominantly the best choices. Look for clean, swift looks for flooring as everything else will be bright and fantastically insane.

Just remember that with retro, anything goes! Multiple pieces always match and will help amplify your design to its fullest.
